Greetings
to all !!!!
I have been employed at KQ92 since March of 1998.....(March 8th, 1998
to be exact, but who's keeping track right?) Started out doing the
evening shift (just like everybody else at KQ92) and have been doing
midday's since then. Along with the midday's, I also do play-by-play
announcing of high school sports for Warroad, Roseau, Lake of the Woods
and BGMR high schools. It's quite an exciting time at KQ92 especially
with the new look website. Keep on checking out kq92.com, because it
just keeps getting better and better ! More news, More sports, More
information. For those that don't already know, I'm a west-central
Minnesota boy. I grew up in the town of Willmar, which is a town of
about 21,000 people. Before working at KQ92, I got my first radio job, working for Armed Forces Radio in the Marshall Islands.
Just to help you geographically, the Marshall Islands are about 2,000
miles WEST of Hawaii & about 2,000 miles EAST of Australia and are on
the other side of the International Date Line from where we are in
Warroad. (remember, you'll be quizzed on this at a later time) So for my
first two years in radio, my work week was Tuesday thru Saturday and my
weekends were Sunday and Monday...to top it off I worked the overnight
8pm-4am shift. So when I went to work at 8pm on a Tuesday over
there...it would be 1am Monday here....confused
yet? After living on an island for two years, my first radio job
was serving as news director at KCII in Washington, Iowa. The one thing that I have found
through the years and that most people will tell you is that people that listen to country music are the most loyal that there are.
I hope that you enjoy the website, and thanks for listening to Today's
New Hit Country ! ! (by the way I was just kidding about the quiz thing)
JERRY HAYNE

Hi there! How you doin? I must admit that I am having a blast here at KQ92. Here are all of my jobs and their stories wrapped up in a rambling page. I grew up Twin Cities and had a lot of jobs. One job would lead me to the next. The journey started out as paperboy, however, there was a problem with being a paperboy. Waking up at 5 am on the weekends was not for me. I needed an afternoon job, and I moved to the lawn mowing game… it was there I discovered that I wasn’t a big fan of 100-degree days. I needed an indoor job. I became a janitor at a factory-part of that job was latrine duty, enough said there. I quickly got a job at a grocery store. It was there I discovered in order to be true to myself I needed a job where I could goof off. I started bartending and I actually liked that, but got sick of drunks calling me “buddy” and “ace” plus it was time for me to get a job where I could sit on my a**. I got a job selling radio advertising. Which was a terrible idea. Sure I could sit on my a**, but the goof off time was very limited because if I didn’t sell anything I didn’t make any money, which was a drag. I would wander the halls at the station; I would walk by the disc jockeys. They were having fun. Certainly not working. They were inside, sleeping until noon, goofing off, and they only worked for 5 hours. That’s what I’m talking about! Finally the journey that had started when I was 12 had finally ended. I worked at a station in Mankato part-time and finally got hired here. I’m a Libra; my favorite country artists are Toby Keith and Johnny Cash. And I love tacos and tuna. Thanks for listening to KQ92. Now stop goofing off and get back to work! I always wanted to say that ;-).
JUDY OLSON

When Terry Olson speaks, Judy
Olson listens. If you have been listening to the morning show
lately....you know that statement isn't necessarily true, but he did ask
me to update my profile, so I guess I can humor him.
I recently joined the morning
show with Mr. Olson (no relation) and although it's only been a short
time....so far so good....I want to thank everyone for the support. It
means a lot to me.
I was born in Fort Francis
Ontario, raised in Int’l Falls, MN, graduated from Lake of the Woods High
School in Baudette, MN, and here I am in Warroad, MN. Just skirtin' my
way across northern MN. I never did go to college, which I regret. But
I have been given some great opportunities.
All of which I am grateful
for. I worked for KQ92 back in 1992 for a few years, then
came back in 2003. I enjoy all country music, old and new.
But I
prefer the classics. I have been known to play a few more older tunes
than scheduled. Not following the rules???? Who me???
Never!!! I better get back to work. Take
care and remember to enjoy every day Don't sweat the small stuff. Keep
listening. Give me a call when I'm on air. I'll try and get a classic
cut on for you. (if the boss is out of town that is).
